Anybody know what the problem could be? I had the battery replaced today as well as a check up the alternator and both work ok.

The problem is I will turn on the car, leave it on idle without hitting gas and then it'll shut off, i've also noticed the rpms jumping while on idle. The car is also shaking violently on idle as well.

happened to my car..... could be the distributor... any cracks on the cap? hows the rotor?

also..check the ecu....i replaced mine..then it worked fine..

i had the same problem, now it's minimal and my rpms dont jump 98% of the time, but there is that one or 2 little surges a day but my car doesnt shut down anymore like it used to....anyway this is what i did:
-put stp gas treatment that super concentrated one 3 fillups in a row
-started using chevron with techron
-fooled around with the rpm settings on the throttle body etc..
-put radiator fluid and radiator fluid treatment
...i also plan on changing my spark plugs soon to stop the final surges i do have until now
