could be clutch as well, shift linkage is pretty self explanatory. Did you put the pin in on the linkage?

it happened to me before..
my differential shaft broke, at first i cant go into any gears, but if i use strength to punch the shifter into gears, it will go into gears, then i tried to drive the car, but the car just wont move... (feels like rolling over a big curb), then i left it in neutral and pushed the car, the car still wont move, but if push the car backward a lil bit, then i was able to push the car forward, i tried forcing the car to drive by leaving the clych pedal off completely, it either wont go anywhere, or it will drive with a big cluking noise which sounded really nasty and the car will get stuck again everntually...
after that i did a swap and took the tranny apart, and saw the differential shaft was broken into two pieces... the mechanic said it was casuded by the short shifter, plus my friend put it into first gear while we were going 40 miles per hour..

Re: how to tell if differential is broke? (Naturally Aspirated)
both tires spinn freely with out any noise coming out of the tranny. at the shifter it dont even feel like its going into any gear the shifter is just moving side to side and forward but not going into the grooves where the gears should be. My car was an automatic b4 this swap too, u guys think that could have something to do with it?
