How To: Cam Gears
Can anyone explain to me how to change my cam gears, i plan on changing them tomorrow. From wat i know you bring the first piston to TDC and you take off and replace, then you torque the cam gears at 12 lbs for intake and 8 lbs for exhaust. Does that sound about right? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I did a search and it didnt help at all.

Re: How To: Cam Gears (Luserkid)
If the cam is out of the head... not attached to the belt, etc... you will need a special tool or some way to hold the gear steady to torque the bolt on.
The actual cam gear bolt on a D series is torqued to 27ft lbs
If you meant the cam shaft holders, they are torqued to around 6-8ft lbs.

Re: How To: Cam Gears (Luserkid)
GSR cam gear sprockets are torqued to 41 ft lbs.
*Note that is the rating for the bolt that holds the gear on the cam NOT the bolts for the cam journals/caps.
It is easiest done with the timing belt still on, as you wouldn't need the special tool to 'break' the cam bolt off (belt holds it in place). Then you loosen the tensioner, slip off the belt, take off the old gears, put on the new gears and slip the belt back on, adjust the tensioner and tighten the cam sprocket bolts.
*Note motor should be set to TDC
