Have you checked the ignition timing with a timing gun? Have you checked the plugs and plug wires?

i just fixed a problem in my ek hatch with a obd1 b16....it would missfire right when i blip the throttle...but will rev up fine after a second or so....last week the car wont start..i changed my distributor and the problem went away...looks like one of the compnents was going bad but was still working. i would never had thought the distributor was going bad until it have totally stopped working...you can try vchecking the ohm's or voltage from the igniter and coil ..also the ckp sensor...goodluck

You might want to measure the fuel pressure and check the fuel pressure regulator and fuel filter.
