HELP...obd2b d16y8 into obd1 del sol chasis
here's the setup
94 del sol chasis
2000 d16y8 swap (using obd2b dizzy)
94 CX harness (rewired for vtec)
here's the problem and questions...
--hooked up everything, motor cranks, but no spark so it doesnt turn over. im thinking the problem lies with the REWIRING of the dizzy. for some reason the cx wire harness plugs BOLTS right up to the 2000 d16y8 dizzy plugs...(unsure if it should plug up or not) anyways, ive searched and found this...
now for some reason, i dont have the RED wire on the obd2 side. and i also have an orange/blue wire on the obd1 side thats not on the chart as well. another thing is that on the obd1 side, there was 2 plugs (a blue and black/yellow) so i just chopped the black/yellow and rewired it to the other black/yellow on the obd2 side. i have NO green wires. on the dizzy side (obd2) i have TAN wires and i dont have a yellow wire on the dizzy side as well. now i think i pretty much have everything wired up right, but still doesnt start.
checked all fuses and grounds and they're all good. using a p28 ecu as well. i also rewired the injectors (using obd2) to work. it primes when you turn the key, but no spark. i changed, spark plugs and wires as well. please help and any input will be great.

Re: (93civicEX)
That's what I was thinking I tried getting him to see if his non-vtec would mate up but he's not responding to his IM. Maybe he just wants to use what he has, but I wasn't aware the distributor could be re-wired or rather the internals to still work without getting a harness to go to from obd2 to obd1. Screw it, I'm tired.

obd1 dizzy will not bolt on to the d16y8 head without modding it. took the spark plug out and and stuck it on the spark plug wire and there is spark. also there is fuel as well in the motor. car still does not start, it cranks (crank shaft moves, axles move, etc) but it doesnt crank. please help
could it be the main relay? my fuel pump works as well

Check to make sure the fins are in right and the order is correct. That means you missfiring like crazy.

1) that fireball means its backfiring anyways you might want to check your firing order. (on the dist too)
2) BTW this happened to me too when i swapped an OBD2 B18 into my 93 CX hatch, it has to be the firing order. and yes, i did use an OBD1 dist with the OBD2 b18, everything works fine.
3) about the rewiring of the CX hardness, thats a different story for me, just hope whoever did the wiring did it right. Good luck!
