A bit ago i was driving my 92 hatch, stock D15 (i know i should just swap it, but for the mean time), and when i downshift it would make like a WHINDING down sound, as if something was making alot of stress on the motor or something....Only in first gear

Well the other day it started doing it in 2nd gear also, and third...now i also hear it when i like get on it and accelerate??? I hear a whine sound coming from the motor or trans...

when i rev it in neutral it sounds fine, normal but when its in gear it sounds like its going to explode... I cant figure it out...

Any help would be greatly appreciated </TD></TR></TABLE>

I have the same thing with my Dx. Only in first and second. You should never downshift into first. These tranny's don't like that at all. I do not know what it is, but I really don't care at this point. I've got a Si tranny waiting to go in. I am also going to be putting in a 8lb flywheel and exedy organic clutch too. I'll let you know if it still does it after my swap. I'll also let you know what condition my throwout bearing and clutch was in to help you narrow down what it might be.

Do you hear it when in Neutral? It's most likely your Input Shaft Bearing. Have you drained and filled your transmission fluid up?

I dont hear it in neutral or when i rev the car up, i think its the trans, i havent messed with the fluids since i got it from a honda dealer so i think they did that stuff right??

I am betting on a trans but anyone else?
