help with installing new pistons and rods
have a sir2 b16a and its bone stock, and im spending my whole $1,400 tuition check on the motor i want to make it as fast as i can with that and am open to suggestions but im thinking of getting eagle h beam rods, arp bolts, je 10.5:1 pistons and giving it a 100 shot of nitrous.........if i take it down and change the pistons and rods, do i just buy new bearings and put them in or do i have to also do some machine work, or any measuring or anything with the piston rings....im one of those who can do the work just need to be pointed in the right direction first

why dont you just boost? with that amount you can get a nice kit and run about 7 psi without blowing your engine if you keep it stock internals? youll be putting around 250whp

Re: help with installing new pistons and rods
you can piece yourself a good kit as well. that ends up costing less than buying a kit complete. and no. you can run your engine STOCK, i mean bear stock with a turbo.
if you do run it stock, DO NOT take it past 10psi. since that is that MAX you can boost. but that is more than enough to bash on Si's.
you also dont need a tune. but it is recomended so you can get the maximum performance out of it. but i have friends who just slapped a turbo on and never got it tuned. or upgraded their internals. and it runs hard!!!
