So from what i hear there forged pistons and work great with a turbo setup but how do i do it?do i get the suzuki rods too or what?

what he is saying is u buy rods for ur motor if u are boosting dont use stock D rods they are a huge FAIL

yeah the suzuki rods wont fit on your crank, you would just have to take them to a machine shop, so they can put the new pistons on

Most after market pistons won't fit on a stock rod. I don't know much about Vitara wrist pins, but I would get the rods if I was going that far into the motor.

Fj makes custom length rods to go with the vitara pistons, standard length rods drop the compression ratio quite a bit.

The pistons aren't that bad, you'll want rods though or else your compression will be silly low. FJ makes custom sized rods for this application, however last I checked they were on backorder. Also be aware that you'll have a bit of noise running these pistons, from what I've seen they tend to slap around a little.

If he used eagle rods with vitara pistons his compression would be extremely low.

FJ rods are the way to go, they are custom made to raise the piston to deck height to bump up the compression to I think around 8.5:1?

Yep, it's around 8.5 with the FJ's.

get ls rods...cus it will fit the crank with no problem......eagle rods weight to much....i rather get oem ls rods with arp rod bolts......it will work cus i have them on both of my motor swap....turbo&all motor..

but hes not going to want to bump up the compression to much if hes going to turbo it. what motor is this going to be on?

8.5:1 - 9:1 is ideal for turbo.

Depending what you're doing, 8.5-9 could be low or high. Remember that the lower it is the more of a dog it will be out of boost and the higher it is, the more careful you have to be running more boost but the better it will run out of boost. Many people have said the GSR is great to boost stock, and it has 10:1 C/R. It's all what you're doing with the motor.

just save your money and go b, Ive been researching vitara building for a long time now, and ive come to the conclusion that d series oiling is not the greatest, and for what u will be spending you could easily have a turboed b series on stock internals, making a reliable 300 hp, do your research, engine building takes alot more than slapping a few parts together, and chances are your going to blow iyour first couple of engines up . Go b, drive that for a while, save your cash, and build the **** out of later, trust me its a much better platform. If i were to show u a b seris aftermarket rod versus a D series you would definatly see why i would go be, d seris are just way to small...... hp is like a drug, u will always want more and its pretty easy to top out such a weak small engine such as a d. Vitara pistons are not forged, there cast, save your money and if you really want a turboed d series motor buy some real parts, one should not mix suzuki with honda, i was dead set on a vitara build, but after talking to my tuner who makes over 900 hp on his b18, which he believes is capable of more i changed my mind and bought a b, and im glad i did because im never going back, waste your money on cooler things man, just my two cents

GO B. i've boosted both D series and B series and more happier with the bigger motor. Easier to make power. But a turbo stock D will smoke a Stock B swap anyday.
