Help with ECU
I have a 97 civic EX with a d16y8 and have no clue on what ecu i have. So does anyone know what i have? Also what are the ways I can have it reprogrammed for more power? I have heard UBERDATA and HONDADATA. But I am looking for the most wicked ECU i can put on a motor with only I/H/E.

it's a p2e i believe....
reprogramming that ECU isn't gonna give u much more power. Your car isn't fast first of all, sorry, but the best ECU program i can think of would be to run obd1, get a jumper harness, and a chipped P28 or socketed for Uberdata or Hondata.

Your car has P2P ECU. With just I/H/E, I would suggest spending money on other things before getting a new ECU/program.

You have To
This is what you have to buy if you want to chipped you're ecu or use uberdata(freeware)
1:OBO-l VTEC ecu (ex:p28(EX OR SI) or 94-95 p72(GSR) or p30(delsol vtec))
2:OBO-ll to OBO-l conversion hardness
3:and chip it
or if you decide to use hondata which a not a freeware. With Hondata could use OBO-ll ecu i believe or check out http://www.hondata.com

Can you please point out where I said my car was fast? If I didn't, could you point out what sentence or group of words I used that made you get the idea that I was trying to say "Hey everyone my car is fast, what can I do to my ECU to make it lightning fast?"

What would you suggest? I am currently thinking of a larger TB and Fuel rail and possibly a Vafc but have heard to leave the Vtec engagement RPM where its at for some reason. Forgot to mention that I am a newbie to this import stuff.

some chick, i donno her though. should dyno at like 180 or 185 at the wheels, prolly bout 145 tq to the wheels. never dynoed and never tuned ls vtec.

Back on topic. I would probably suggest cams after I/H/E. Maybe a high-flow cat because what good is a free flowing exhaust if you have such a restrictive cat. I would ONLY get a VAFC if you plan on getting it professionally tuned. Just slapping on a VAFC and lowering the VTEC engaugement point will not net you much - if any - power. You need the air/fuel curves to be adjusted to your car & mods.
Another thing you can look into is underdrive pulleys which usually give you a slight gain.
