Default chipping ecu

Ok guys got a question...I have a b17 swap on my DA but my ecu is pr4 which is an LS ecu. Now I talk to this guy and told me he can just chip the ecu to add vtec in it. Is that a good idea? Or I just have to buy the right ecu for my car? I'm kinda confused what to do. Which is the best and cheapest thing to do?

People add vtec to non vtec ecus all the time. The plus thing about having the chipped ecu is that you always have the option to use it for tuning.

Chipping is just a method of adding an external program into the ECU. Most people run Crome on cheaper setups. Hondata requires the addition of their S100, S200, or S300 boxes externally
