Well I took my motor out to paint the engine bay and do a semi wiretuck. Everything went relatively smooth except the motor wont start or run. It cranks and wont start... The weird thing is this........ When i turn it to "start" and DONT have the clutch engaged what seems to be the main relay makes a awful noise and the speedo jumps to max speed. If i just lightly hold start the speedo will just jump slightly. with the clutch pedal down like a normal start the speedo jumps from 0 to max and back randomly and the relay only sometimes makes the noise. Please comment if you have any clue to what this may be.....


i forgot to mention this is a 98dx civic hatch with stock motor and everything.

have you tried replacing the main relay??haven't had any experience in your problem...so bump for a answer...

sounds like you have some messed up wires or grounds improperly placed somewhere

i think i found the problem... i think its the lack of the t-stat ground... i will go try this out and get back to the thread
