HELP! b16 into my 96 Sedan NO Spark!

Re: HELP! b16 into my 96 Sedan NO Spark!
99-00 Civic B16a2 engine swap into 96 Civic, right?
The ECUs for OBD2a (96-98 Civics) and OBD2b (99-00 Civics) are pinned differently, so you need a conversion harness and an OBD2b ECU.

Re: HELP! b16 into my 96 Sedan NO Spark!
The engine harness I just picked up (so called 96-98 EX) looks like the FIRST pic I have posted (blue "c" plug) which would be OBD2A from what youre saying, correct?
If so, then I would need a OBD2A to B jumper, and an OBD2B ECU (like 99-00 Civic/Si, or 98+ GSR) OR could I use an OBD2 to OBD1 jumper harness and run an OBD1 GSR ECU?
Also, if the harness I have is an OBD2A, then should the SOHC ecu I have atleast let the car fire up? Because On that ECU I still have NO spark what so ever.
Like I said ive done some looking around on the net, and Ive noticed the "C" plug I have on my harness, when plugged into ECU's in the pics Ive seen, has a empty slot in the center of the ECU (for auto cars?) which the two ECU's I currently have have these same empty slots.
Thanks for your help.

ok thanks man. So the solution to get the spark is an obd2a to obd2b jumper and an obd2b ECU (which I regretfully just traded for a P73) but I should be able to use the P73 with the jumper correct?

Another question, I have an obd2a harness on my b16 because the SI harness wouldnt work because it was missing the dash plug found on 99-00 civics...I converted over to an OBD2a harness, and I have two OBD2a ECU's (SOHC and Type R Integra)....neither will send any spark out of the dizzy. It has power, EVERYTHING else works....

There's a Blk/Yel wire attached to the coil and ICM inside the distributor. With the key in ON(II), does it have battery voltage to body ground?
Does the fuel pump prime?

yes and yes. The car cranks and all. We've done the tests with a voltage probe to check the amps going to and coming from the dizzy. No spark out of the wires, and the distributor is getting power. Im going to try a new distributor here in the next few days. I hope that works. Ive changed the coil as well and still, nothing.

Re: HELP! b16 into my 96 Sedan NO Spark!
We've replaced the coil in the distributor from a known working distributor, and still no spark. The distributor is getting voltage....heres a thought...
The old setup in the car was running a b16 with a obd2a to obd1 jumper harness....obviously with an obd1 ECU. The distributor off of THE OLD setup is the one im currently using which I believe is an OBD1 (lacking an important sensor)....OBD1 distributors have 2 plugs though correct?
Mine has 1....other than the ICM what else could malfunction causing no spark? Im using an
obd2a engine harness from an EX, its missing the crank sensor plug, and the piece for the oil pressure switch by the oil filter....fuel pump primes, all lights are functioning, car is cranking, but there is no ignition....
Ive also tried jumping the crank sensors. I found this on another forum. Says its to trick the ECU into reading the presence of a crank sensor...could this be why theres no spark because I dont have the crank sensor connector? And wouldnt it work with it being jumped???
