Sounds like you have power hooked up the the 12+ constant instead of the ACC

this is my brothers car, the only wiring we changed when we did this swap was that we ran the vtec wires directly to the ecu(cx to zc swap). it makes no sense to me why this is happening.

i guess we will have to check to see why it is getting constant power.

It sounds stupid . Okay. Try this. Unplug the ecu. And see if the heater still comes on. If it still comes on then you know it wasnt anything related to your wiring. You said all you hook up was the vtec right? I am assuming you didnt change anything else with the electrical. And said it happen when you install the new motor. I'm sure its not the vtec wiring. Try that hth

Wecome to the world of cars...sometimes they don't make sense...hehe

Was there a stereo alarm put in recently...is it the fan that stays on or the actual heater unit (there is a defference)

I don't have my schematic in front of me so it's hard to trace over the internet.

ive been dealing with the wonderful world of cars for about 6 years now. and you are correct, sometimes they just make no sense at all. but i think everything stays on( ill post later when i get a chance to check for sure). the climate control stays lit up and you can switch from fresh air to recirculated air.

First suggestion...check your Blower Motor Relay and Radiator Fan Relay(if that stays on too).

You might also check the ACC, ACS and FANC wiring on the ECM...those are the the wires for the AC system...FANC is probably your best bet...it is hooked up to the Engine Coolant Temp Switch

If anyone has full wiring schematics of of both ECUs and respective vehicles it would help a lot.

I lot troubleshooting

That's a good start...in reading my 96' schematic (not the same, but similar)...I noticed that many things need a closed loop inorder to function correctly...ie, if it doesn't have everything connected...it will cause issues like you stated.

Is there a fuse i could pull to cause this to stop or is there any other method of preventing this from happening?

check your heater motor relay...there should be a fuse or a relay that will stop that....I'm thinking that your relay is bad...

back from the dead because i have the same problem on the wife's car. it doesn't do it every time, but it does as described above. i bought the car with the swap already done. it is a '93 DX with a Z6 swap ran on a P28.

i have not done any searching or troubleshooting yet. trying to get a straight answer.
