Head confusion "PLEASE LOOK AT ME"
I have a 1997 integra ls swap in my 1992 hatch... and it isnt fast enough. I wanted to swap the head on it, and hopefully make it vtec. What would be the best choice for me... my current options are
Integra type r head, fully built except for cam shafts and gears, all else included.
cost-$450
or
B16 head (dont have all details yet), and when i get it i will get 3axis port and polish. I could also get camshafts and gears.
cost-$135 for head, and atleast 300 for port and polish.
or
I could buy a conversion kit for the current engine to make it vtec
cost- no clue
if you guys have any better suggestions than that, please let me know. one thing i have been hearing is that the b16 head would give about the same ammount of compression as the type r. but again i really dont know.
i would greatly appreciate your help.

just go with the type r head (sounds cheap) there is no such conversion without a actual vtec head, also search ls-vtec on here

um, how is a head fully built without cam's or gears, sounds sort of built to me.
if you're going to port and polish the b16 head, then there's no need for the extra expense of a type-r head. Especially if you're replacing the cams/springs/valves anyway...

x2... go with the B16 head. Its cheaper and will be just fine for a LSVtec conversion. Look up Golden Eagle too for the LSVtec kit.
