Half Shaft / Axle Issue

Half Shaft / Axle Issue
Currently swapping an OBD1 jdm b16 into a 2000 civic ex chassis.. I'm down to the last part of putting the axles in and the passengers side fits perfect but the driver's side axle won't push all the way into the half shaft thus making it to long. I've been told since the motor is out of a obd1 eg the halfshaft is different and I would need a b16 half shaft out of a 2000 si. Can anyone fill me in on this? Is it the halfshaft, or is it the axles? This is all I have left to do... Thanks in advance!

Are you saying the whole axle including the cv's wont push all the way into the axle input on the tranny and is making it too long or what? I'm just confused on the "axle won't push all the way into the half shaft"

yea, I'm saying that the driver's side axle goes into the halfshaft but it definatly could be pushed in further, we tried hammering it and everything but its a no go, if the axle went all the way in the length would be perfect, but because it won't go in it makes the axle to long and I can't put the hub assembly back into the lower control arm.

Well, just make sure its as straight as can be, splines are aligned, and you have the right side of the axle going in (look for the ring on the end). I mean, thats all there really is to it, i dont know if putting in it neutral or anything will help. Might try wiggling it around also while putting it in.

spray the axle end with wd40, that will help.
also you can then put the axle in the hub, and hammer it in that way by hitting the end of it, just put a piece of wood over it so you don't damage the threads
thats what i did at least... the wd40 did the trick alone once spray on axle end and in half shaft

We didn't try the wd-40 but we tried putting it in and hammering it while it was in the hub, it still wouldn't go any further, but im still trying to figure out if there is a difference between eg and ek half-shafts...

as long as you have the b series axles they should fit with some maneuvering... its a pain in the butt sometimes but gotta play with it
