I'm not too sure if I'm asking an obvious question.
I'm pulling my motor out of my DA and got the right axle out but on the left axle do I just pry the axle out of the half shaft?

 

yes its only held by a ring

 

i replaced mine last spring, and the axles were really shot!!! so bad that when we were pulling the left one out the axles joint -where boot covers, just broke by us pulling on it with one hand. could not get it out for nothing, we ended up having to unbolt the halfshaft from the block and beating the old axle off of the half shaft using a rubber mallet. so just a heads up it may take that if your axles really really tight in there like mine was. good luck.
