wondering if this engine is a good swap for my car, it's a 1993 del sol si with a d16y8. iv been told that this engine is very heavy and will cause my springs to sag?? but also this would add the most performance besides getting a k20right? witch i dont have the money for a k20 anyway.

id look more into a b series engine. its been proven the the h series doesnt weigh much more than a B.

its like 200hp outta the box, but i dont think an h series is the best option for hondas heaviest chassis...

i know its not that much heavier than a B but still, weight is weight. whats wrong with the y8?

h22 is about 85lbs heavier... don't quote me but i know it's not too much heavier then a b18C.

it all depends on what you're getting out of your car...

Daily driver? 1/4 mile? autocross?

you could DD a h22 in a del sol but 1st gear is totally useless.

If you want more power at affordable prices, then find a B20 or LS
swap and swap it in. and down the road convert to LS/VTEC

ya another option would be to boost the y8! it would be a very fun DD, go to the FI thread and look at some of the power sohcs are making!

honda's heaviest chassis? are you talking about the del sol or the prelude?

the del sol isn't that heavy. mine comes in at 2460 with me in it.

boosting the D would be nice too. you can build your block to support boost for under 600 i believe. though i'm not too experienced with D series, they are tough little engines if you do your research.

the VTEC del sol really isn't that heavy. i don't care what people say, i took my **** to the scales and it only weighed 2200lbs, 2460 with me in it.

i think my prelude came in at 2670? i forget, i'll have to double check this weekend.
