I'm thinking about buying a Honda Del Sol and swapping a engine into it. All you expert hybrids out there, which engine will fit and perform the best with a Del Sol. I'm thinking about spending about $4k on the engine

well hell just buy yourself a 350 and convert it to back wheel drive!j/k!!
4K is a lot of money for a swap. I personally like my LS. But everyone seems to like the b16a so hey jump on the bandwagon and get one!j/k. LS/TURBO!!!!!!!!

 

When I say $4k, I mean the cost of the engine and labor cost for swapping. Also, if I swap, will I loose AC and power steering?

 

you should be able to retain both with a b series i whould think.but you might want to make sure. You and your friends could do the swap possiblity? could end up saving you a lot of money! But anyways your car is a Del sol.is it auto or 5-spd?

 

Didn't buy the car yet... Does it matter if its an auto or a 5spd... isn't a FULL swap including the transmission??

i expected you to do a FULL swap but i am asking becasue of the wiring harness and the clutch pedal you will have to add, the clutch fliud resivor,the hydro lines,etc.....that will cost you more if you are paying some one to do the swap for you!

yeah a while back i saw in a magazine, the option2 guys in japen had a RWD delsol.
they took stock motor out of the front and put a b18c r in the back.
i don't know what they did about the weight redistribution but they said it worked!
