glow guages
the old owner had these something similar to these http://www.streetbeatcustoms.com/speedgaugciv.html on my 92 civic si i bought not too long ago and he told me he unplugged them or something, At night i can barley see my cluster so i wanted to change the bulbs, so i took the cluster off today and saw that he just put these on top of the cluster, but they dont glow. I like the white looks of it, and i found that the wire isn't connected to anything. Where do i connect it?

I just pulled mine out (old owner of car had them in and i couldnt stand them)...but hey if you like them cool, what color is the wire that is not hooked up? red or black? black is a ground the red goes to your headlight switch, just tap into the wire going there and you should be all set.

When I had those gauges on my car a few years back, I tapped the wire into my ashtray light. Basically, you'll want to the tap the wire into any wire that gets power when you turn on your parking lights.

Why would you ever do that? There are several places you can tap the wire to in your INTERIOR.

Honestly, there wasn't much relevency to say that at all. Anyone who wires things from inside the car to under the hood (when there are more practical/logical ways to wire it) shouldn't be working on a car.

Tapping the guage wire into a pre-existing wire that lights up the cluster will accomplish this too.

Is there three sets of wires with lil plugs on them? or is there several wires running into a larger box unit?
If there are just the wires with the little plugs you'll need to buy a new inverter unit to power them. The overlays use electro luminescent with requires A. an AC charge and B. a higher voltage. CLICK HERE for 6color inverter or HERE for a good inverter (speedhut stands behind their products and their customer service is top notch)
If there is the wires going into the box you simply need to connect the power leads (should be black and red) to power connectors. I'd say either use the original gauge bulb holders to connect the wires to the illumination power or tap into the wiring harness for the gauge.....

Re: (CarbonizedDX)
I had a set of those and the light output made the guage look fuzzy to me. I didn't like reading it at night.
I would just change the bulbs in a factory cluster to those new multi-blub leds so the whole face gets lit. Looks cleaner IMO
I've seen some SI/ex clusters with LED lighting or re-fabbed bulbs and they look dope and OEM-ish.
