Fixed the problem-stupid v-afc
well...i finally fixed that idle sputtering and oil cut out.
i wasnt getting any CEL code-so anyways one night i dropped off my g/f and the lights started to dim out as my idle start to jump around.
i got home and popped out the ecu-ended up breaking one of the clips...but oh wells.
i pull the harness out and look. The wiring is a freaking mess. Im surprised there wasnt any shorts. so anyways i spend the next hour or so rewiring everything. then i find a loose wire that wasnt even connected.
patch it all up...start up the car. no problems. So i throw the kickplate on back over the ecu and start it up. CEL comes on. so reset the ecu, pop the plate back off...start it up...no problems. put the kickplate back on-CEL again.
its about 1:00 in the morning and here i am sitting in the garage with a flash light trying to understand how a kickplate would start a CEL.
anyways-after some more cussing and i found another loose wire that got knocked loose by the kickplate-so after some adjustments the car has been running fine since.
hope thats the end of the drama.

What kind of car are you having trouble with? You might be pushing on some wires when you put the panel back on which maybe grounding out. Is your car OBD 2?

Re: (Vtecin94dx)
yah i installed it the first time around as well. had some problems with it since i added in a vtec light for the heck of it, and an a/f after the install. so the wiring was pretty chopped up.
plus the electrical tape i used wasnt all that great, guess some of the heat during the summer caused it to loosen up.
