V-AFC Installed....now I get CEL
Well~ I Installed the AFC yesterday and I soldered all connections EXCEPT the vtm wire which I did install....but it was getting late...I'll solder that today. After I did the initialize 6in 6 out 4cyl throttle up and all that crap the car idle great and I let the ECU go through it's re-program. I took it for a drive and everything seemed fine no CEL but just as was about to park the CEL came on and wouldn't turn off it even shows with the key to the ON position. I reset the ECU and same outcome about 10min later the CEL came on....also this morning I had no vtec at normal operating temp. Which wires should I check? I'm going to look at the VTM and the VTEC solenoid wires again they may be loose or something. Any help appreciated. Thanks.
I actually am getting VTEC I just had it set high
but I still have that cell...I think it is probably just that VTM wire....thanks for the reply though

if the VTM wire isn't hooked up then you won't hit VTEC, it'll just be rev limiter pretty much. yes check all the wires. fuel pres. and VTM. make sure none of them are crossed and that they have good solid connections. keep us updated.
===> MeI spliced the bottom left wire on the right plug instead of the top right!!!!! for the VTM! It's running fine now no CELs and everything is good....in the middle of the night you kind of get tired and don't think straight....
Thanks guys....VTEC is strong set to 5500 engage, 4800 disengage...all good...

heheheh all good... i did my vafc install at like 1 in the morning with a flashlight and i accidentally cut the wrong wire (i cut the IACV instead of TPS i think it was) so i had an IACV cel, and i drove it around wondering wtf. rechecked everything and i realized... it was dark so i cut the wrong wire (it was like black/red vs red/black... somehting of that nature). glad u fixed the prob.
