i have a 99 si, and its using oil. not alot, but enough i carry some with me. i havnt seen a leak, or a puddle on the ground. when i started it lastnight it was smoking very lil, whitish smoke, but once it warmed up it quit. so im not sure if it was from it just being cold, and cold outside, or what. i did a compression test, and it was fine in all 4 cylinders. any help? also when im at low rpms its hesitating. i was thinking fuel filter?

White smoke at startup is normal, get on the gas and see if it blows blue smoke.
How many miles to the quart are you getting? If it's too bad, B16s are fairly cheap, or plan to do new rings. And a leakdown test is more accurate than a compression test.

Run some fuel injector cleaner and check your plugs first. General advice, but it's best to try the cheap and easy stuff first.

as for the oil how much is it using (1qt for 3k is whithin honda spec)? and the hesitation could be just a tune up.

or worst case low compression..

ill try getting my gf to rev it for me tonight to see what it does, ima say it loses 1.5-2qt to every 1000-1500 miles. i was thinking maybe to rings, would a leak down test help figure out if the rings are bad or not?

yes leak down test is the most accurate. any honda/acura dealer will have the tester to do it.

ok ima go up there tomarrow then i guess. i was planning on throwin my turbo kit on, but wanna get this oil **** figured out first.

my did this for the longest. then i put fully synthetic mobil 1 10w30 in and a stop smoke oil treatment and dont lose any oil at all.
