Engine Coolant Temp Sensor threads
Purchased a remanufactured head and it turns out the threads for the engine temp sensor(not the switch) in the head itself are bad. In the manual it does not have any info on what size thread this might be. It only shows the ECT in the thermostat housing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This job is kicking my behind.

The thermostat is not where the ECT is, you're looking in the wrong area. If anything you find out by getting the measurements off of the ECT switch itself.

The sensor on the thrmostat housing is for the fan switch
The ect sensor is under the distributor.
If you need the thermostat housing I have one. Just replace the ****** thing.
Idk even know what kind of car you have
This is why I don't post here.

Sorry. 97 Civic nonvtec. It's the sensor that goes into the cylinder head just to the right of the distributor. The threads in the head itself are stripped.

You got scammed those heads are cheap the cost to repair it would be more then the head.
Might be able to put an insert in it. But I doubt it
Find a sensor that'll work with the oem ecu and be bigger than the one there.

Yeah I got it from headsonly.com. wish I would have just sent mine out but there isn't any trustworthy machine shops nearby. They send you a remanufactured head with a shipping label and when you are done you sent yours back. No core charge. Seemed legit. When I got it I found out that they do not send heads with stud bolts or the cam seal which I wish I would have known ahead of time. Called up this am and they are sending me another head. So another week with no car but at least they are working with me on this.

That should've been the first thing to do instead of hopping onto the forums to rethread a head you just purchased. I'm sure there's a warranty on there, as long as the necessary parts are replaced.
