Default Ek : b16 swap w/cable ls trans which T bracket ?

I've searched for 2 days trying to find some answers before I look like a "noob". Anyway trying to get some stuff together for my swap. I have been use to playing with ef's and eg's for a long time and never really took to learning or reading up on the ek's ..well that has came back to bite me.. I currently have a 97 ek coupe ex car.. I am swapping a b16a with a ls cable trans. Do i still use the 99-00 si rear t bracket or can i use the eg rear t bracket? Also the swap came out of a crx am i still able to use thw 2 bolt block mount with the 99 si bridge peace that goes to the single post mount?

Any info on this stuff would be great and would like to thank you in advance.

Russ

you would still use he DA rear t-bracket, thats the only one that will fit that trans... and get the 99-00 si post mount for the drivers side.. thats the only one that will fit that mount..

Bart.. thanks for the quick reply. Please dont take any personal offence to this but are you for sure that the da will work with the ek. I just would hate to order a t bracket (gave the origional away with my shell) and have it sitting around and i cant use it. once again please take no offence to that

y would you want to use a cable tranny? im pretty sure he is right thats the reason when we do a b swap on the ef you need to use the da mounts right? and the ek driver side mounts are different from others

Phaphon because i have about 1500 in this transmission with gear set and lsd and rebuild. So i am going to use it LOL. I can understand the ef swap needing the same year group as the da but i am jumping 2 generations alot of chanced have been made in that time. But I am hoping someone here that is using a cable trans in a ek can give some for sure answers. not saying the answers im getting here are bad. there helpful by far.

the bolt pattern on the trans for the t-bracket are different from the hydrolic to the cable.. so even if you try to bolt it up they are different.. i beleive the cable uses 17's while the hydrolic uses 19mm bolts

http://www.swapshopracing.com/contents/en-us/p4048.html

here is a link for the innovative ones....

i have done several eg ones but not an ek.. its the same tho... just the eg has a new mount, and the ek has a bracket for the passenger trans mount..

Bart... I have that mount on order allready. I am more concerned for the rear tranny mount t bracket being my big hang up on this swap. Cause i have been having people tell me 99-00 si t bracket.. but this is a cable trans no a hydro.. and the DA rear t bracket got mentioned.. so i am not sure which one to use lol

Ah gotcha..I will say for others that do stumble on to this thread. I ran a cable trans in my eg b16 swapped hatch.. with that hydro to cable conversion tab that bolts the slave to the trans and the arm works great. I personally like the pedal feel its very small mid pedal engagement and disengagement so i didnt have to push down a ways to disengage or engage the clutch

Just bumping the thread for a sec.. maybe someone on here has done the cable trans in to a ek.. any way talked to hasport they said to use the 99 civic si rear t bracket.. not saying hasport is wrong.. just like someone to chime in that has the cable trans in there car to give a for sure answer. Thanks

Is it by any chance a '92 - '93 YS1 cable tranny? You can swap the guts from these into a hydro tranny and save yourself a headache.

A Y1, gee, i hope it works ok. They are known for grinding issues, especially in 3rd. You sure are putting an old tranny in a newer car

btw, the tranny needs a 90-91 Integra clutch, no other will fit...well, the clutch disk that is
