Icon3 EG vs Ek

Ok give me some advice. Im turning 16 SOON. Haha im quickly learning alot about honda everyday, through you guys and my dad. I want a HONDA Civic. But i dont know what year model yet. Ek or EG. I think both of the models are pretty clean. But i wanna know like whitch one is lighter, easier to swap engines, and easier to add aftermarket parts blah blah blah. Im looking forward towards performance. And my budget is under or around 5k.

So help me out guys EG or EK

And please dont influence me to get different car haha

Thanks
p.s. im still a n00b haha

yeah, it's weird. You have to put short words in quoations.
e.g. "EK" "vs" "EG"

EG is lighter ,but it actually comes down to personal preference.

I own both. Differences are negligible IMO.

I guess I like the 92-95 better.

Whichever one you like more is better.

But it's easier to find clean 96-00 then it is to find 92-95.

Both the eg and ek are great cars and share a lot of similarities. Out of those two, i prefer the ek (or 96-00 civic) because of a few improvements such as more ridged chassis, smoother ride quality due to a slightly longer wheel base, it's newer and a bit less prone to rust.
For the guys mentioning for all out performance, go crx, it's crazy light and has amazing potential.

Dare I say much less prone to rust. I can't ever remember seeing a rusty 6th gen Civic.
