DOHC on a D series block?
Some clown here in my webpage is arguing with me that he thinks you can put a ZC DOHC Non-VTEC head on a D16 block. I disagreed with him based only on the fact that I've never heard of or seen anyone do this. Is it possible?
He also thinks that the JDM ZC sohc-VTEC motor that I have under my hood doesn't exist either, so whatever.

I've actually heard this before. I think it was done by some 3rd gen Accord guy. Supposedly he really knows his ****. Who am I to argue.
Personally, if this was possible, I still don't see a reason for it when you can just swap in the ZC or a 2nd gen the motor in with less headaches.
But whatever. I hope you're not one of those guys who are just looking for an answer so you can prove that kid wrong and feel better about yourself.

Re: (ridiculous)
That was my first impression, it'd be a waste of time.
Here's the scoop. I have a ZC Motor, which is a 94 SOHC VTEC from Japan. It's pretty rare, and I honestly didn't know there was a ZC SOHC VTEC until the motor arrived at my house last March. This guy keeps telling me that my engine doesn't exist and that I threw a VTEC head on a ZC DOHC block, which obviously hasn't happened since the engine came this way, and although hard to find, I have found a few other ZC VTEC engines on the internet.

Re: (SOHC_MShue)
Haha, well of course they are! I have one in my engine bay! This moron thinks that just because he went to some site with all the JDM engines listed on it, and didn't find a ZC VTEC, that it doesn't exist. Whatever, some people are just born stupid and ignorant I guess.

Re: (ZCboost)
The ZC head will fit any D series block, I put one on actually. Not really worth it, but the two cams brings tuning to a new level.
The older Integra, came with D16A1 or ZC in Japan. The JDM Sohc Vtec are called ZC because it replaced the Dohc version, but the first ZC was a Sohc. Basically, Honda name ZC for balance of power and fuel economy.

Don't think so, the first one I know of was in the JDM 84 Civic and CR-X Si's, the 135 PS DOHC ZC, the olive top one. Before that Civic were running EV's EW's.
