Default d16z6 HELP!

ok well i blew my headgasket the other night while i was spraying and the FPR vacuum hose blew off. it wasnt bad, just burning a little coolant. drained the oil and didnt see any coolant in it. so anyways i've been building a head and i have everything so i figured i should just go ahead and put it on since the old head has to come off anyways. got my old head off and looked at the gasket and the seal looked broken in a couple places (not the gasket, just the seal). i put my new head on with a d16y8 headgasket. the head is a 95 w/ a zex 59300 cam and JG valve springs/tit. retainers. i used my stock intake manifold and just transferred all the electronics/sensors from teh old head to the new head like the dizzy and what not. i did a valve lash on the new head and set the exhaust to .009 and the intake to .007 and made sure the timing was right. im using a stock cam gear. so i throw everything together and go to start the car and it revs up and keeps going. i shut the car down at 3500 rpms and checked the throttle cable. that was set correctly, i also checked the distributor to make sure the zex cam could not allow you to set it 180 degrees out and the distributor was correctly installed. i know the firing order on the cam isnt off because i never pulled the plug wires off of it. oil/coolant has been changed as well. im really not sure what could make the motor continue to rev at startup....any ideas? i really need to get my damn car running. havent been able to drive it since sat. night.

air leak.... happened on a friends car, vacum hose to the manifold came off, and would start up and rev to 7k. If you don't see anything standing out, i'd suggest the gasket itself, doesn't need to be a big hole.

I agree. Its an airleak most likely.
