Default Does the Apex'i WS2 muffler rust out?

I am looking at this muffler for my 2000 ex coupe... I don't need performance, as long as it doesnt take away some from my car... all I need is quiet, and non-rusting....

How is the quality of these things? How long should/have they lasted for all of you?

Thank you very much.

I can't speak for the WS2 but I have the N1 and the canister is tring to seperate from the piping. I've tried to have it welded and that didn't work so I dug in the ghetto tool box and fixed it with some JB Weld.

I don't see too many people mention Brospeed mufflers, not sure if they are out of business or what, but i've had my 96 ex for 3 years now, and the oval brospeed muffer was on it when i got the car.

its over 3 years old with no rust and it is still nice and shiney and neatly tucked under the stock bumper.

with stock resonator its fairly deep not raspy and quiet on the highway and when I floor it and hit vtec you can hear the little d scream louder than the muffler

i had a brospeed on my old hatch. GREAT sounding, better than a ws2 imo, but a bit louder. however, the muffler and pipes weren't stainless. after 2 years, with some winter driving in tahoe, rust appeared at all the welds.

WS version1 is just made in steel (not stainless steel). I think they discountinued this version and have the version2 ( stainless steel coating). But, when I made a purchase last month, the sales told me that version2 is now titinaium coated.

Before the WS muffler, there was the Apexi RS muffler, remember that anyone? My friend had that one, and it rusted out. I would hope the newer ones are stainless.

i've had it for about 4 years now... winter driving and all... the muffler hasn't rusted out yet, and still get a great tone... the piping however is starting to get small rust holes that give you a small buzz

the piping is steel, with some sort of titanium powdercoat... the muffler is stainless steel

I ordered it today, I know it will be worth it compared to the stock rusting in 1 year, I just hope it lives at least until I hit 200,000 miles lol,... 110,000 from now

yeah... its def not stainless steel... and my rust holes, you can't even notice them unless you get under the car and have someone rev the car... besides that you have a slight buzz that's kinda annoying... overall i'd say it was an ok deal. from what i've seen most aftermarket exhausts don't really last 4-5 years. especially when you drive through wisconsin winters all 4 years.

Well, I got mine.... It had a few scratches in the powdercoat on the piping... I guess it would have happened eventually, just bummed it came that way. IN either case, it will give a good measure for rust etc... So yeah... I might as well add a review of this since my experience seems different than most.

Exhaust - Apex'i World Sport II
Car - 2000 Civic EX coupe (d16y8) With stock everything exhaust and intake wise with exception of K&N air filter.

Fitment

Better than stock, really snug like, just the right spots, and in actuality... the resonator is tucked in more than stock, not hanging low... all of it is higher.... its nice.

Weight

Heavier than stock I guess, but it is so much thicker etc... It is understandable. It is not too much heavier though, just slightly .. that however was from holding them, not weighing.

Sound

I don't know how people measure these, or where from... But from inside the car, The Apex'i World Sport II is quieter than the stock exhaust was... or as quiet at the higher RPM, 6500rpm. From outside, it is slightly louder than stock, but geeze people, at least on my car, almost unnoticably louder... might be the change in tone though.

Power

Butt Dyno, however, I would say, it has at least better response at low and mid range... and seems exact same in higher RPM at least compared to the stock muffler which had a hole where the right most hanger on the muffler rusted off... so, Id say very nice for daily drivers.. I wasn't looking for a difference, but I noticed it on my way to work and college. It was very different.
