Default Dist. Timing and Phearable.net Ecu

i had my ecu chipped by phearable but he never said anything about distributor timing.the car is boggy at low rpms.i advanced the dist timing and its runs ok is this safe?the car is ls/vtec stock b16 head

How far advanced? 18? What octane gas do you use? j/w

i run 93 gas,but in order for the car to not be boggy right from idle the dist has to advance a little bit,i dont know the exact advancement i did it by hand,im not driving the car like this right now.it idles around 950-1000

I'd get a timing light and make sure you didn't O.D. on the timing
