Default Reset ECU = Reset Timing?

I'm running a JRSC, and I had to replace my ECU. Now it doesn't feel as strong. Do I need to retard my ignition timing again since this is a different ECU?

both are stock ecus. The timing was adjusted with distributor, but you have to jumper the service connector for the ecu to set the timing that way.

The only reason you jump the service connector is to get the ecu to stop messing with the timing while you are adjusting it. You can actually adjust the timing without doing it, it's just not as accurate.

If you have not adjusted your distributor at all, then your timing should still be retarded to where it was before.
