dipstick dosent measure oil level?

dipstick dosent measure oil level?
I need help....i recently bought a 94 civic and decided to do a oil change, so i did the oil change and when i went to check the oil level it just had a drop on the dipstick so im like wtf...i know for a fact it dosent leak any oil...can anyone help me solve this...thanks

What engine do you have?
If you look into the oil fill hole, do you see oil pooled at the top of the head?

turns out the dipstick was wrong, it had a dipstick from a d15b7 which is shorter from the d15b and d16y8...so i just got one from a d16y5 i have laying in the back....thanks for the advice grumblemarc
