D16z6 Timing question
I have a 94 sol with the d16 and i need to know how to set the timing on it. ive looked around for a post describing this process and haven't found anything so any info or links would be appreciated. also i do not have a timing gun to do this with. i originally set the timing at the yellow mark on the crankshaft and the cam gear aligned with the marks, but got no luck. please let me know any available info as the weather here is nice once again and im still driving the beater lol

Re: D16z6 Timing question (ImmaculateDelSol)
its real easy man its cool he put that picture on there cuz thats what i have too its outa the do it your self books you can get at a local parts store just to make sure that your belt is tight all the way around you dont want any slack on either side if it means moving it one tooth to get it tight then do so its not going to hurt any thing i even just took a socket and cranked my cam gear to get it tight and mine couldnt be more dead on just make sure that key is lined up perfect on the crank and the line on the cam is lined up and that should be it make your adjust ments on your belt so its tight and it should fire right up now if something still seems off just by a little you can also adjust your distributor to get it perfect
