Default D16Z6 oil pump removal help

I am trying to get the oil pump off the block. I removed the bolts and the timing gear from the crank. One side of the pump is stuck. I don't want to damage the pump, since I want to re-use it. After trying to just pull it off by hand, I have tried using a pry bar and a rubber mallet. Any suggestions?

I am stuck at the middle of step 9. I have removed the bolts. I thought the assembly was something you can just pull off by hand. Mine is stuck on one side. If I had to guess the dowel pin is frozen to the block and pump. Assuming that is the problem, how do you get the pump off without damaging it.

Try to gently pry the pump off, taking care not to damage the mating surfaces. The dowel would be cheap to replace.

Pry harder? I guess if I can't get it I will have the machine shop handle it when they inspect the block.

Haha...yeah harder, assuming you already removed everything shown in the diagram. I suspect that you are just fighting with some unwielding Honda-Bond.

Yes, everything is removed. Its just a block with the crank and oil pump. I'll try again when I get home from work tonight, otherwise I'll let someone else deal with it at the machine shop.
