D16Y7 to D16Z6 Head swap.
Okay since the other thread was closed, lets try this again. I've searched over 100 links pertaining to my title. And have yet to find a legit answer to my question.
I have an automatic DX running a d16y7 tranny/block/head. I wish to mount my d16z6 head onto my block. I know of all the processes needed to do the actual swap.
I have a p28 automatic ecu from a civic del sol SI, and a d16z6 head / head gasket set.
I have 7 y7 head bolts and 1 z6 head bolt for the vtec solenoid.
I have read that I can use a z6/y7/y8 timing belt so I shall keep my y7 since its basicly new.
I also read I need a z6 distributor, I am aware that I need a obd1 distributor to obd2 jumper harness, will this work with an automatic?
My main concern is the ecu and wiring harness, The obd2 to obd1 jumper harness only works with manuels as I can tell, and I can't afford a rywire 250$ harness, is there any other solution?
Please let me know if I'm on the right track guys, don't close this. I came here for help, not for someone to tell me to search harder. 3 days ago I had no clue of hardly an of this, and this is what I've put together.

Re: D16Y7 to D16Z6 Head swap.
It got locked because you pretty much asked to be spoon fed all of your information. This isn't a fast-food joint. But if this is what you came up in 3 days, imagine what you'll come up with in 3 more?
The distributor is/should be a non-issue. Double check the part numbers if you are unsure.
Here's a suggestion to save yourself headache trying to mini-me an automatic if and when you go manual. Save up for the manual transmission swap.
Swapping a VTEC head on a Y7 with an automatic is absolutely a waste of time even if you get around the ECU issue and the wiring. That POS transmission will negate any benefit you get from doing it. You're wasting your time. It's even a waste of time WITH a manual transmission.
And I've never seen one done. Never. Probably why you cannot find any kind of harness for it.
