need help with swaping head (mini me) z6 head on y7 block

need help with swaping head (mini me) z6 head on y7 block
i got 96 civic dx (d16y7), i want to convert to Vtec
i have read alot forum about mini me swap but i still not too sure if i have all the part i needed.
Here what i have now,
d16y7 block, d16z6 head, d16z6 head gasket, d16z6 timing belt, d16z6 distributor, d16z6 spar plug/wire, P28 ECU.
Do i need any other part? and can i use y7 intake/exhaust manifold? b/c im run out of $$$
any information would be really helpful

i also want to know how do i convert OBD2 to OBD1, people told me that i have to get convertion harness, and where can i get that harness from? anything info would be very helpful...thx again

Hello, and welcome to H-T.
Use the red "search" feature in the upper right corner of this page.
Type in the subject, such as "OBD2 to OBD1", or "conversion harness" click "archived", and it will pull all the answers for you.
You will read and learn for hours.

thanks, but im not sure if my car is OBD2a or OBD2b b/c before i bought the car the owner told me that he did swap new y7 engine and i dont remember if he said the engine came from 98 or 99 civic, is there a way i can check if my car obd2a or b..thanks

yes you need an obd2a to obd1 conversion harness to run the p28 and you might need the obd1 distributor to fit the head correctly unless you want to ghetto rig it and only have like one bolt holding it on

thanks, i got it about convertion.
but if anybody can tell me if i put z6 head on y7 block, can i still use y7 intake manifold? or do i need z6 intake manifold, and if i need z6 manifold can i use my y7 fuel rail and fuel injector? pleas help..!!
