d16a6 timing belt work on my d15b7?
I purchased a timing belt for my ed4 and decided to just drop a LS in instead but I popped a head gasket on my dd eg8 and wanted to use my brand new d16a6 timing belt on the b7 . I'm assuming it would work but I figured I would ask to make sure, no reason to waste money on a new belt if WWthere the same.

count the teeth..sounds tedious but thats the best way to check. if you lay them on top of one another they will be seen as "one" if they are the same...all miss matched if different. But im pretty sure all the non vtec d series use the same belt.

That's what I was thinking as well, I've always heard the non VTEC timing belts are the same, can anyone confirm this? Thanks for your tip but like you said that's tedious and I'm not going to have the head till Thursday or so. I just started tinkering today.

14400-pm6-004 is the part number, i googled it and it says its an oem timing belt for 88-91 civics, dont mention any other d series, but if it will fit a b1 shouldnt it fit a b7?

They are not the same and it will not work. Don't bother counting. You can google it if you like.
The 88-91 Civics come with more than just a B1 as an option, but more specifically the A6 is not a B1 and from your post you have an A6 belt further confirmed by the "PM6" listed in the part number you provided.

No worries buddy, I went through the same thing before. For future reference the teeth counts are:
A6 - 107
Z6 - 104
Z1 - 103
B1/2/7/etc 106
Sorry, I was going to post that for you earlier but I was on my way out.
