D series LSD Tranny (JDM)
I searched but need to know a bit more about it.
The seller mentioned it has 4.4 final drive, but I don't know what stock D series final drive is (2000 DX CDN model). Just want some comparison. I don't think I have driven a car with LSD before so I don't know what type of improvement in terms of handling I can expect out of it. I know in theory, during cornering it will help out a lot. Any D series guys out there that has upgraded their tranny or added in a LSD (Quaife for instance?)
I am not sure if it is worth the time to swap an entire tranny out for this said jdm d series tranny or just add in a Quaife LSD? Is it worth it to a stock engine?
Thanks

I know people that run LSD's, there is a definite increase in traction, and if you have any real power you will see less of that nasty torquesteer.
If you can find one of the JDM D series LSD trannies, I'd say get it, they're nice. Very hard to find though.

The best perfomance improvement per $!!! With a LSD you can expect a ton more traction through the turns. Tight turns (forward or reverse,) will feel like it's binding though. Might also want alittle more "toe-out".Even if there are no other mods, it will make the car accelerate & handle awesome! Remember "slow-in and fast-out" because of less understeer with a LSD.

The seller is asking 550 CDN with 300 dollar installation fee. That works out to be around 620 USD installed. He said he doesn't know the KM on the tranny but should be fairly low since it is from Japan. The seller's shop does installation and will provide 3 months warranty.
I might never get a swap done, who knows. This D block could very well be the only engine my car will ever see in its natural metal life time. Or even if there will be a swap, it might very well be 5 or 6 years after.
So I am debating whether I should jump on this deal to make my current vehicle run/perform better or just leave it the way it is....
I have nothing against D series, I think the engine runs strong (at 110000km now) and still has room for improvement.

Re: (Nova_Dust)
no matter what you do BUY the tranny. $650 installed, really isn't a bad price.
just buy a new clutch and flywheel while your at it..
