Default CVT Tranny?! is this correct??

i lookin in to buyin a car from this person and they told me this about the tranny but she said it was 5spd but i thought CVT was some new kind of auto? am i mistaken or does she know what shes talkin about?

Her: its the gas economy version with the special transmission
Me: special?
Her: alot of people are interested in them
Her: cvt
Her: they are light
is that correct?

'96-00 Civic HX automatics use a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission). It doesn't have set gear ratios, it is continuously variable as the name suggests.

What exactly are you asking?
