CVT tranny? it this correct? Help!!
i lookin in to buyin a car from this person and they told me this about the tranny but she said it was 5spd but i thought CVT was some new kind of auto? am i mistaken or does she know what shes talkin about?

Me: special?
Her: alot of people are interested in them

essentially, it's a 5 speed automatic. but it really doesn't have any speeds, hence the name CVT. Consant Velocity Transmission. They are designed to get rid of the parasitic drag caused by normal transmissions and also designed to get rid of the normal "shift points" of you regular automatic transmission. call your local honda tech, they will be able to give you more info.
"Continuously Variable Transmission"...it basically has an infinite amount of gear ratios. Still not as efficient as a manual, but more so than an auto. I'm not sure which car would get the better gas mileage....
