crower vs. vtec
I recently dropped a b18b in my eg hatch. im not looking to have a crazy fast street car, i just want my dd to upset the occasional v8 mustang. im trying to decide wether i want to do crower stage 2 na cams with dual springs and titanium retainers in my b18b head or throw a gsr or b16 head on there and call it a day......what do you guys think would be better? bottom end will probably remain stock for now....maybe b16 pistons....idk.

you dont need vtec if you have boost!!! Turbo FTW!!! if you shop well you can get boosted for like 1500. I had a 95 hatch turbo with a d15b7, ran gsr's all day long i ran mustangs, and a wrx on an all stock motor on 10psi. i was boostin for like 1400 only thing that would have to be changed b etween d and b series is the mani so if i could do it you can do it!!! PS id still have the hatch but some expletive stole it and wrecked it.. god help them if i find the person

i would go ls-v no matter if you wanted to add boost or not. LS heads suck the block isn't that bad, its not a gsr but it will do. a stock b16 or gsr head will flow just as well as a ls head with upgraded cams.

vtec head. LS heads can flow like crazy if you have the cash to throw at them but your valve train will suffer because of the amount of lift and duration you will have to run to flow a lot.
Just use a vtec head and a good set of cams and you will be set man.

vtec is great but boost is better, best= ls/vtec+ turbo! Its kinda a hard call but I would start with the vtec setup and go from there 1st vtec head then cams, springs the usual top end build. Then in the future go boost!! with a decent set of cams and a high flowing head wth nitrous you'll smoke mustangs all day!
