Default VTEC vs. Non-VTEC Bolt-ons?

After tossing in a rollbar in my hatch I find myself in dire need of a few ponies, so I'm gonna hit up the bolt-ons.

In the car now is a stock B18B which will eventually be swapped for a B18C... I'd like to get bolt-ons that I can keep when I get my next motor, but everything I find seems to be different model #s for VTEC and Non-VTEC applications.

Intake
I know the VTEC motors probably have largers TBs, but can't I modify a 'VTEC' intake (with that rubber tubing stuff) to fit my smaller TB? I also know a GSR IM is an oddball, but why would it then be considered the same part # by AEM?

Header
Any difference here?

TIA!

Honestly your best bet is to throw that money into a nice set of cams, like some crowers or something.

don't want to lose drivability... i think my best bet is just a new motor

Some crower 404a's wouldn't cause any driveability problems, and they'd work jsut fine with your current valvetrain.

For the reccord, I don't think that putting on a larger TB would really do that much besides give you a leaner motor. Think about it...same fuel map, same ignitiong timing, same fuel injectors + more air = a leaner mix.

yeah yeah i know. i never wanted a larger tb, i was just wondering why a B18B intake was different from a B18C5 or B16.

so you think that a throttle body would cause an engine to lean out, but much larger cams wouldn't?

you can get the ctr crankpulley if you don't have ps or ac. Fuel pressure regulator is another option. These will work on the b18c.

if you want to get cams or larger tb get a adj. fpr and chip the ecu.

I know that cams would make a motor run leaner...if you didn't do somethign about it. I just personally feel that a set of cams would be a much sounder investment off the bat than a TB would be.

For the record the intakes are different (I think) because the intake manifolds themselves are designed differently.
