went to summerduck dragway yesterday, ( i know where the F is that) its in VA. Run 4 passes down the 1/8 and didn't really brake anything except my motor mount which is screwed anyways. Left there and started driving home. Well about two miles from the track i got into the throttle a bit and my tach and speedo went crazy and the car started bogging. Here's what im running. 96 hatch, skunk2 ob2 to obd1 adapter, p30, vafc2, obd1 b16, and all the wiring i did myself. Car has been running finr for a month with no problems. when the tach and speedo went crazy i pulled over and the vafc2 was resetting itself when the car would bog. so i hardwired the ecu harness back together and pulled the vafc off. not sure what the problem is but i am going to try and run my friend gsr ecu today to see if thast is the problem. car ran a 9.80 in the 1/8th on street tires could have run better if i got better traction. thanks for all of yalls help

check your grounds and connection points. sounds like something is shorting or turning into an open circuit.

9.80 is about right for a b16...but check your ecu...or your speed sensor..my old y8 did that just b/c the speedsensor went out...g/l

car is also sputtering somewhat like it aint getting gas? just put in new plugs ngk-r and wires msd 8.5 and vtec is still coming in although the speedo and tach are all over the place. is single cam speed sensor and dual cam speed sensor the same

when that happened to me it was the battery, was loose or the alternator went loose or died. try charging the battery
