Cranking up VTEC
Like your mom use to tell you, if you dont have anything nice to say, dont say anything at all. No flames please, but constructive critisicim is welcome.
I really have no idea if this is even possible but I figured I would through the idea at you guys and get some feedback.... so here it goes...
I was thinking of a way to make VTEC more powerful. Now, considering there is a soleinod that assists in VTEC, I thought what if you got a larger soleinod, and hooked a Fuel pressure regulator up to it?
So basically you could use the FRP with the larger solineod and let more oil in. I was just thinking, maybe that would compinsate for more oil if you got aftermarket camshafts since the VTEC lobe is larger.
This all depends on where the soleinod is located, if its in the cylinder head that may create a problem, but if its external then it would be easier to do.
Thanks for listening.

Re: Cranking up VTEC (HybridJDMHonda)
it wouldnt matter if you made a stronger seloniod.....it is all on the cam shaft lobes....if you get a higher profile vtec camshaft then vtec would be a bit more powerful.......my 2 pennys

Yeah I know, thats why I said after you got aftermarket camshafts.
So the soleinod could compinsate the oil.

Re: Cranking up VTEC (Phantom)
Thanks for the links.
But, I already have a pretty good idea as to how VTEC works and how an engine works.
Are you telling me that it wont work?

Ok, no need to get harsh.
Maybe you could explain WHY this wouldnt work, if you know so much then lets hear it, honestly I want to know why it wont work.

Re: Cranking up VTEC (Matt B)
Really!?
I guess I thought that it put oil in the cylinder head.
I knew that the oil pressure builds up and then the lost motion assembly make the vavles work off the VTEC lobe as compared to using the primary and secondary lobes.
Thats all I need to know thanks!
