Default clutch sinks to the floor

Hi all new here to the forum. I have a 93 del sol, 71,300 miles, 5speed, SI orginal owner. I go out this morning an my clutch sinks all the way to the floor and it won't go in to any gear while running, will go into gear with the motor off. I checked my fluid in the master cyl, little low but nothing bad. Drove the car on Thur --about 4 miles and noticed that the cluch seemed very loose? Would engage about 1inch or so from the bottom of the floor/firewall, but other wise seemed like it wasn't even working. The car worked perfectly fine until that Thur and is has been parked in my driveway due to snow- until this morning when I went out to start it. There are no puddles in the snow and there is nothing on my floor mats either. Any ideas on what it could be and how much to fix. I'm sure I'll have to get it towed to the dealer. I would like to have some clue so I don't sound like a total fool to them when I get there. Is it something a local garage could fix instead-would it be cheaper? I'm in Canton Ohio and if there is a decent garage around I would like to know. I love my Del Sol and have had no real reapirs until now. Thanks all.

Have you checked for fluid leakage from the slave cylinder? Otherwise, the clutch master cylinder is likely bad. Be sure to bleed the system from the screw on the slave cylinder after installing.

Where is the slave cylinder? I'm not real mech. inclined (lady here-no offensive to any of the girls out there that can work on their cars) Will the dealer or repair shop bleed it or do I??

If a shop does the work, they should/must bleed the system. The diagram shows the slave cylinder, which is opposite the radiator fan on the transmission. Follow the clutch fluid line from the clutch master cylinder.
