Default del sol clutch/trans problem. help

so lately i've been having trouble with my clutch/transmission. this is my first manual trans so i dont really know how to diagnose the problem. everytime i try to take off from first my car shakes like crazy. today it was really hard to get into gear. i tried turning the car off, putting into gear and turn it on but when i tried to start the car in gear it would shake like crazy. i turned the car on normally and it went into gear but would shake violently and felt like it was going to stall. any idea what can be wrong? thanks in advance for any help

Does the car shake if the transmission is in neutral? Does the clutch pedal feel spongy or soft? Is fluid in the clutch reservoir low?
