Default Cluster Problem

I have a 94 Civic Si and the stock gauge cluster is acting up on me when i am driving. When the car is moving the needle on MPH will constantly jump up and down from about 40 to 120 mph.Once i come to a stop it also stops and then once i am driving it happens again. Anyone know whats the prblem or can give me an idea where to start with this??

Check the Vehicle Speed Sensor connector for corrosion, loose connection or cut/broken wire.

does it do it constantly or every now and again? I used to hit my cluster hard and it would work for 5 secs then go back to acting up again.

Replace the VSS. vehicle speed sensor. Before you re-install the new one make sure their is no corrosion in the connector on the harness
