Default civic underdrive pulley

I have been trying to put one of these on my friends civic, however I can not get his damn stock pulley off. I have tried putting it in 5th gear and holding the break, but I cannot seem to get the bolt to loosen at all. What is your advice as to what i should try next? Thanks for any help in advance.

MY advice would not to put it on at all. They add absoutley now hosepower at all. I had one and it did nothing for my car. That and they say that is throws off the harmonic balance or your engine. I don't think that they are worth anything except a paperweight. Just my opinion though. Good luck anyways.

that's the second best way unless you have that special pulley tool to hold it in place. honda sells it for about $150 (price I paid 4 years ago could be cheaper) or try this place:www.thetoolwarehouse.net they sell a tool specially made for honda and acuras that does the same job like the honda tool only it's sell for $40 plus shipping. that were I got my tool shipped fast too! ordered on monday and arrived on wednesday (regular shipping)

I have never done it on a Honda alt. but I did on a Celica. If you have access to an air gun, place a rag around the pulley and have a friend hold the pulley with a large pair of channel locks. It came right off for me. If you don’t then take $10 bucks down to a local garage and talk directly to the mechanic. DO NOT TALK TO THE GUY BEHIND THE DESK!!!! He will *** rape you.
