95 civic: how remove crank pulley?
First time doing a timing belt on civic, how do get the bottom pulley pulled off. I got a special tool to take off the pulley for my cb7 and crv, but this civic has a differrent pulley on there. Anyone got a good write up with pictures before I get started on it tomorrow before I break stuff. Thanx

Re: 95 civic pulley
im guessing ur doing it on a eg cuz alot of them dont use the 50mm hex. what you could do is take the dust cover off the tranny, and put a 12 mm wrench in between the flywheel and the casing making sure the teeth grab the round part of the wrench and after you turn the flywheel theres a point where it gets stuck. and you can break the bolt loose. eazy

Really? Never heard of this method before, is it affective? Sorry about sounding abit skeptical but Im willing to try it. Wont the flywheel get damage, teeth bent or break off. I beleave the pulley bolt has 85lbs of torque?

Re: 95 civic pulley
i think the pulley bolt has 85 up to 130. but its worked for me every time. no damage what so ever. i dont have a pic so u can see. but i hope u get the idea. the wrench should go towards the back of the engine with the round part of the wrench into the teeth. u might need a friend to help you hold it there.

Re: 95 civic pulley
i got it when i couldnt take off my homies crank pully from his civic 94 hatch. cuz the pulley just has alot of little holes in it, so my old buddy said try hooking the flywheel with a wrench, and he was right. i used this method on acura integras as well. never failed. and yes counterclockwise. you will be surprised. how effortless it gets.

I have an extra timing belt from 92 cb7, does it fit into the 95 civic. Also I need a write up, not sure about the timing marks.

Crap, u maybe right. I’m trying to compare both belts, but the civic belt broke into three pieces and is missing a few grooves. Everything matches up, except the diameter for the civic belt. I may go get a new one, hate to do things twice.
As for the timing marks, dont sweat it, did a search and found a good research to read up last night. Thanks agian.

Got a new timing belt from Cragen, # T224 or TX224. But its abit short and have loosent the tentioner to the fullest and still cant get it on. I think they may have sold me the wrong belt. Can anyone verify this?

According to Kragen's site, T224 is for the Si/Z6 engine. That would explain why it doesn't fit (Z6 belt has a couple less teeth on the timing belt compared to the B7).

Shoot! I just called Cragen, according to engine code, they gave me the wrong timing belt. Thanks!

Re: 95 civic: how remove crank pulley?
Im back & still on the timing belt job. Anyone know how to put back the a/c belt tensioner? Ive tried putting back on and it freezes up, Am I going to tight with it or am I putting wrong. Didnt get a chance to look at it, it just fell apart and did not have a chance to notice how it was set up. Anyone?
