Is the fan touching or the fan cover? If its the fan cover just simply cut it. If it is the turbo go with a thinner fan or smaller turbo, or different manifold.

the cover seems to be touching, but the fan is really close as well. i bought a slimmer fan from the parts store, and one of my friends says put the fan on the outside of the engine-bay instead of in the engine-bay. so pushing instead of pulling the air into the motor. does that sound that something that would work? or does anyone have a better idea?

Yes, that will work. Search the forced induction section. They are very helpful.

I would see if I could custom fabricate something and move the whole thing over so as to be out of the way of the turbo and engine. Don't forget that your engine rotates forward when you put the car in revers and engauge the clutch.
