civic ex cat conversion
Hey, I have a 00 civic hatch and I have a d16y8 head with full valvetrain internals going on soon.
What I want to know is what is involved in doing a header swap from the "cat-in-header" dx one to the ex one with the cat below the engine?
I assume that the o2 sensors harnesses need to be lengthened, I also need a stock ex or si cat, and my exhaust needs to be chopped up a little by a muffler shop.
Somebody who has done this conversion before please either walk me through it a little or reassure me that I'm on the right track. Thanks.
And here's a pic of my car so that people will look at this thread:

Re: civic ex cat conversion (WildPig)
couldnt you just buy and aftermarket exhaust for one of the motors that had the cat where you want it and then just buy the cat and bolt it on to the new exhaust. you would of course have to lengthen your o2 sensors but this would be better than hacking up your stock exhaust to get it done.

Re: civic ex cat conversion (wrb03wrx)
Well here's the thing, I already have an apex'1 N1 exhaust for my car so I don't want to buy a whole new one for an EX cuz thats just wasteful. Anyway I'm not sure that the EX exhaust would fit right on a hatch. I figure that a muffler shop could do the "hacking" job easily and would only cost like 20 bucks.
Thanks for the info guys, I appreciate it.
